So far so good I guess. I left Wisco Monday and got as far as mid NE. I have no issue with pulling over at a rest area to sleep. Just keep the doors locked and I never stop too early. I was all tucked in around 10pm Monday night. One thing I didn’t plan on so soon was the heat. It was 86 at 9pm. I considered a DC air conditioner this off season but opted for a cabin heater instead which does not work as the shop that installed it did so incorrectly and I have not corrected it yet as we are heading into summer anyway. But I kinda wished I had opted for the conditioner. Anyway, soon I will be at altitude and it should make for comfortable nights.
Tuesday morn I finished my drive to my ol buddy Joe M who lives in Aurora, CO. I was planning to sleep in the van in his driveway as I do get good sleep in there but with the temps Joe gave me his spare bedroom for which I was grateful.

Then on Wednesday he took me on a nice ride on the HighLine Canal Trail. Pretty awesome. Great scenery. Nice 24 mile ride that I did not plan on but was welcome.

Like I said it was a very nice ride. We got it done before it go too hot. Then Joe took me over to Red Rocks just to see it as a concert there is on my bucket list..

I’ll be back for that.
As I type I am in Bailey CO. One the cutest mountain towns you can see. I am also visiting friends here. Both Deb P and her son Branden worked at my bike store one summer. She’s got quite the place at almost 9k elevation that has bear and moose walking past all the time. Its a great pit stop on my way west.
That’s as far as I got so far. More to come.
